Information Centre on Disability - ICD

Information Centre on Disability was established in 1998. Its goal is to create a centre that collects information on the trends of disability development under one roof, as well as, to maintain disability data bank for referral purposes. Its vision is an inclusive society that respects the dignity and humanity of all citizens is a destiny that everyone would like to arrive at.

The activities of ICD include generating information on different aspects pertaining to disability, sharing information with various stakeholders and public, building synergies with and capacity of pro-disability entities/individuals for concerted actions towards a society for all, monitoring the observation of disabled people's rights in view of policies, practices, legislations and international treaties, and, maintaining a data bank on relevant disability publication anecdotes. The key words for describing their focus are information, health, education, rehabilitation, human rights, democracy, poverty reduction, and, sports and recreation.

ICD is working in the regions of Dar es Salaam, Coast, Morogoro, Dodoma, Iringa, Ruvuma, Mbeya, Mtwara, Lindi, Kilimanjaro, Tanga and Arusha
